Capture Examples

One test canon. Real product expectations.

These 15 synthetic examples are selected directly from the same v3 200-case control canon Return uses to evaluate capture quality. They show what each note is expected to become after review — including what Return deliberately leaves blank.

Background stays in the raw note unless you write it into a field yourself. Where committed app screenshots exist, a before/after pair may be shown only when it matches the current scenario; otherwise the example stays text-first until fresh runtime evidence is captured.

Field Ownership01

One conversation, three kinds of place

The note contains the encounter street, a doorway landmark, a residence, two scriptures, and background interest.

Raw note

“Met Elena Ruiz at Pine Street by the blue Gate. We discussed hope for loved ones who died and read John 5:28, 29 and Rev 21:4. Elena lives on Cedar Road and is interested in local history.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Elena Ruiz
Notes:None
Met at:Pine Street
Topic:hope for loved ones who died
Scripture:John 5:28, 29
Scripture:Rev 21:4

Only Pine Street belongs in Met at. The doorway and residence can be offered later as places; scripture and background do not become Topic or Notes.

Control canon v3 · V3-HTH-US-101

Return Visit02

Past place, work place, future place

A return note names where the conversation happened, where the person works, and where the next meeting is planned.

Raw note

“Met Priya Shah at Harbor Road. We talked about the resurrection and read Acts 24:15. Priya is interested in astronomy. She works on Market Street. We will meet at Garden Lane next Friday at 3 PM. I promised to bring the lesson 4 worksheet.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Priya Shah
Notes:None
Met at:Harbor Road
Topic:the resurrection
Scripture:Acts 24:15
Follow up:bring the lesson 4 worksheet
Return:next Friday at 3 PM

Only Harbor Road is Met at. Market Street is an optional durable-place candidate; Garden Lane belongs to the future return, not the past encounter.

Control canon v3 · V3-RV-US-101

Place Roles03

History should not overwrite the encounter

The note combines the current visit, material actually placed, an origin, a residence, and a future meeting.

Raw note

“Met Amina Bello at River Avenue. We discussed what makes prayer meaningful. Placed the Hope tract. Amina came from Coast Road as a child. Her family lives on Palm Street. We will meet at Garden Road next Tuesday at 11 AM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Amina Bello
Met at:River Avenue
Topic:what makes prayer meaningful
Placed:the Hope tract
Return:next Tuesday at 11 AM

River Avenue remains the encounter. Coast Road is origin only, Palm Street may be deliberately kept, and Garden Road belongs to the plan.

Control canon v3 · V3-RV-AF-101

Scripture & Topic04

Two real discussions, two scriptures

A study note includes two distinct discussions, two citations, and several background facts.

Raw note

“Studied with Marcus Lee at Oak Street. We discussed the hope of the resurrection and read John 5:28, 29. Later we talked about how prayer helps during grief and read Phil 4:6, 7. Marcus has arthritis and cares for his mother. He is interested in gardening.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Marcus Lee
Notes:None
Met at:Oak Street
Topic:the hope of the resurrection
Topic:how prayer helps during grief
Scripture:John 5:28, 29
Scripture:Phil 4:6, 7

Both real discussions remain separate Topics. The citations stay Scriptures, while health, family, and interests remain in the raw note rather than automatic Notes.

Control canon v3 · V3-BST-US-101

Study Continuity05

Keep each place in its own lifetime

A study can mention the current meeting, work, birthplace context, and next meeting in one short note.

Raw note

“Met Zuri Ndlovu at Acacia Road for the study. We talked about why prayer matters and read Matt 6:9, 10. Zuri works on King Street and was born near Hill Road. We will meet at Garden Lane next Thursday at 6 PM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Zuri Ndlovu
Met at:Acacia Road
Topic:why prayer matters
Scripture:Matt 6:9, 10
Return:next Thursday at 6 PM

Only Acacia Road is Met at. Work can be offered for explicit keeping; historical and future places cannot silently become durable person places.

Control canon v3 · V3-BST-AF-101

Informal Witnessing06

Discussion is not the same as background

A casual conversation contains a real discussion plus work, home, scripture, and an unrelated interest.

Raw note

“Talked with Nora Kim at Central Avenue during a coffee break. We discussed how to cope with anxiety and read Phil 4:6, 7. Nora works on Tech Road but lives on Willow Lane. She is interested in hiking.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Nora Kim
Notes:None
Met at:Central Avenue
Topic:how to cope with anxiety
Scripture:Phil 4:6, 7

The discussed subject becomes Topic. Hiking does not. Work and home may be offered after Save without changing Met at or Notes.

Control canon v3 · V3-INF-US-101

Message Return07

No invented encounter location

A message thread can contain home, history, and a future meeting without any physical current encounter.

Raw note

“Messaged Samuel Okoro about whether God listens to prayer and shared Ps 65:2. Samuel lives on Palm Road. He grew up by Harbor Street years ago. We will meet at Market Avenue next Sunday at 4 PM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Samuel Okoro
Met at:None
Topic:whether God listens to prayer
Scripture:Ps 65:2
Return:next Sunday at 4 PM

Met at remains blank. Only the residence is eligible for optional durable promotion; the historical and future places keep their own meaning.

Control canon v3 · V3-INF-AF-101

Public Witnessing08

A landmark is useful without becoming Met at

The note includes a street, a nearby gate, a residence, a scripture, and a background belief.

Raw note

“Met Grace Chen at Market Street by the green Gate. We discussed whether peace is possible and read Isa 2:4. Grace lives on Cedar Lane. She believes politics can solve most conflicts.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Grace Chen
Notes:None
Met at:Market Street
Topic:whether peace is possible
Scripture:Isa 2:4

The street is the encounter location. The gate is wayfinding, the residence is durable only by choice, and the background belief is not the discussion.

Control canon v3 · V3-PUB-US-101

Ambiguity09

Two current places fail closed

A single note explicitly says the conversation continued across two places.

Raw note

“Met Daniel Kofi at Pine Street and continued the same conversation at Harbor Road. We discussed what the Bible says about justice and read Micah 4:3. Daniel works on King Street.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Daniel Kofi
Met at:None
Topic:what the Bible says about justice
Scripture:Micah 4:3

Return should not silently rank one location into Met at. The raw words remain safe, while the work address stays a separate optional durable-place candidate.

Control canon v3 · V3-PUB-AF-101

Workplace10

Encounter, work, and home stay separate

A lunch conversation names the current meeting place plus separate work and home locations.

Raw note

“Met Luis Ortega at Factory Road during lunch. We talked about balancing work and family and read Eph 6:4. Luis works on Industrial Avenue and lives on Birch Lane. I promised to bring the family article. Return Friday at 12 PM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Luis Ortega
Met at:Factory Road
Topic:balancing work and family
Scripture:Eph 6:4
Follow up:bring the family article
Return:Friday at 12 PM

Factory Road is Met at. Industrial Avenue and Birch Lane may be offered after Save, but neither silently becomes encounter context or Notes.

Control canon v3 · V3-WRK-US-101

Campus Conversation11

Discussion stays distinct from an interest

A campus note combines the actual discussion, scripture, study location, home, background interest, and next meeting.

Raw note

“Met Chloe Martin at College Road after class. We discussed whether science and faith conflict and read Heb 3:4. Chloe studies on Campus Avenue, lives on Maple Lane, and is interested in astronomy. We will meet at Library Street next Wednesday at 5 PM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Chloe Martin
Notes:None
Met at:College Road
Topic:whether science and faith conflict
Scripture:Heb 3:4
Return:next Wednesday at 5 PM

Science and faith is the discussion. Astronomy is background. The next meeting remains future context rather than replacing College Road.

Control canon v3 · V3-SCH-US-101

Travel Conversation12

Travel history does not become the encounter

The current meeting, origin, childhood place, and future meeting all appear in one compact note.

Raw note

“Met Sofia Rossi at Transit Road while waiting for a bus. We discussed why people need hope and read Rom 15:4. Sofia came from Harbor Street and grew up near Lake Road years ago. We will meet at Garden Avenue tomorrow at 9 AM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:Sofia Rossi
Met at:Transit Road
Topic:why people need hope
Scripture:Rom 15:4
Return:tomorrow at 9 AM

Only Transit Road is Met at. Origin and history stay contextual, while Garden Avenue belongs to the future return.

Control canon v3 · V3-TRV-US-101

Not at Home13

A useful landmark without a person profile

A personless not-at-home note records the current street and a practical landmark.

Raw note

“No one was home at Oak Street by the white Gate. Try again Thursday at 2 PM.”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:None
Met at:Oak Street
Return:Thursday at 2 PM

Oak Street is encounter context. The gate can be deliberately kept as wayfinding, without inventing a person or automatic Notes.

Control canon v3 · V3-NAH-US-101

Voice & Ambiguity14

Run-on speech still fails safely on identity

An unpunctuated note mixes an ambiguous first name, discussion, scripture, residence, background interest, promise, and return time.

Raw note

“met linda on cedar avenue we talked about hope for the dead and read john 5:28,29 linda lives on maple street interested in local history promised to bring lesson 3 next tuesday 4 pm”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:linda
Notes:None
Met at:cedar avenue
Topic:hope for the dead
Scripture:john 5:28,29
Follow up:bring lesson 3
Return:next tuesday 4 pm

The parser may structure grounded facts, but it must not silently choose between duplicate Lindas. Background remains out of Topic and Notes.

Control canon v3 · V3-ROB-US-101

Robustness15

Many roles in one breath

A run-on note combines encounter place, landmark, scripture, placement, future material, work, history, and return time.

Raw note

“met chidi nwosu at river road by the blue gate talked about why god allows suffering read james 1:13 left the green brochure will bring lesson 2 monday 3 pm chidi works on market street and grew up near lake road years ago”

Expected reviewed structure
Person:chidi nwosu
Met at:river road
Topic:why god allows suffering
Scripture:james 1:13
Placed:the green brochure
Follow up:bring lesson 2
Return:monday 3 pm

Each grounded phrase keeps its semantic role. The gate and workplace may be kept only by explicit choice; history cannot become Met at or Placed.

Control canon v3 · V3-ROB-AF-101

On-Device Invariants

Grounded, reviewed, and deliberately restrained.

On device

Parsing and extraction use Apple frameworks on your device. Personal ministry notes are not sent to a Return server.

Source grounded

A structured suggestion must come from what you typed or spoke. A place name is not automatically where you met, and “left” is not automatically literature placed.

Review before structure

The raw note saves first. Intelligence proposes structure afterward, and you decide what becomes part of the organized record.
