Capture naturally.
Write is the first-run default. Type or speak. The raw note saves before a person, topic, time, or place has to be chosen. Capture starts with Write in my own words unless you change it.
How it works
Return carries one conversation from a capture to a prepared return. You can write in your own words, or enter the details you already know. Either way, the raw note saves first.
Write is the first-run default. Type or speak. The raw note saves before a person, topic, time, or place has to be chosen. Capture starts with Write in my own words unless you change it.
Switch to Details, or set Capture starts with to Enter details. Choose a person, add notes, and fill Topic, Follow up with, Return, and Met at only when you have them. Nothing is required, and switching modes keeps the same draft. Return still writes the exact note first, then applies the fields you entered.
On supported iPhone, Apple Intelligence can turn your words into suggestions. Nothing is added to a conversation until you choose it. Keep the note with a person, or leave it in To Sort. Details does not invent structure; Suggest details from my note is optional when Notes is nonempty.
The person page is the continuing memory, not a spreadsheet. Notes, the next return, a Bible study, and how to find the place stay together. Add an address or choose in Maps. Set a pin, keep a doorway photo, or write a landmark path. When the map is unavailable, your saved directions still work.
Before you knock, call, write, or meet, see the last exchange, a question, promised material, and a planned time. The heading and the next action match the method you chose — a door, a phone, a message, or an arranged place.
Capture, the next return, and Timer stay one tap away on Apple Watch. Widgets keep the next return in view on the Home Screen.
Return stores the core record on your device. You can review, export, anonymize, or erase your own records.
